•Jeanie Edwards, wildlife artist from North Carolina, will be doing a brief presentation at the Library at Lindsey Wilson University on Monday, June 8, at 11 a.m. The city will be doing a presentation to Ms. Edwards.
•There will be a proclamation for Mark Twain Week in Columbia on Thursday, June 11, at the Adair County Library. [This is preceding the events scheduled for next week.] Proclamation signing is 11 am on Thursday. We hope you will attend.
•There will be an unveiling of the mural for the Mark Twain Mural located on the building at the corner of Jamestown Street and South Reed Street on Monday, June 15, at 11 a.m. The public is invited to attend.
•The Mark Twain Storytelling Festival will be held the week of June 15-20, 2026, in Columbia, Kentucky. The week will be with an unveiling of the mural on the side of the building at the corner of Jamestown Street and South Reed Street on Monday, June 15, at 11 a.m. This mural was completed by Lindsey Wilson University student, Tezon Mitchell of Greensburg. The mural is sponsored by the Ross family.
•There will be a reception at the Slider Auditorium at Lindsey Wilson University on Friday evening, June 19, beginning at 5:30 p.m. A program will begin at 6 p.m. with a welcome by Columbia Mayor Pamela Hoots; followed by a message from Dr. Robert Brock of Lindsey Wilson University; and, a presentation by the Arts Administration Program.
•Saturday, June 20, at 9 a.m. begins the various presentations at V.P. Henry Auditorium. Morning presentations will be from 9 a.m. until noon and afternoon from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. There will be food trucks at the university from noon until 2 p.m. for lunch and a vendor fair in the Hodge Center at the same time. The event will conclude that evening with a presentation in the city parking lot off of Fortune Street. Presenting will be local historian Mike Watson. It will begin at 6 p.m. Food trucks will be in the area.
