Adair County Sheriff’s Office Apprehends Wanted Subject Following Investigation And Search

On Saturday, February 7th, 2026, at approximately 2:31pm, Adair County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Derek Padgett, Deputy Joey Burress, and Deputy Emily Wall arrested Enoch D. Burton, 29, formally of Columbia, a wanted subject that was in non-compliance of Sex Offender Registration, who had been evading arrest for approximately 3 years.

Burton was apprehended at 89 Flat Rock Road, in the Breeding Community of Adair County, after deputies suspected Burton to be in the residence.

Upon the Sheriff’s Office arrival, Burton jumped from a rear window of the residence and was apprehended outside.

Enoch D. Burton was wanted on the following warrants of arrest:

Kentucky Parole Board Warrant

Sex Offender Post Incarceration Violation

Pike County, Kentucky Indictment Warrant

Failure to Comply with the Sex Offender Registration

Persistent Felony Offender

Taylor County, Kentucky Bench Warrant

“This arrest is a direct result of the relentless pursuit by our deputies to locate suspects hiding in our community,” said Sheriff Gary Roy.
