Columbia-Adair County Fire Department Dispatched To Fatal Structure Fire On Bull Run Road; Firefighter Injured On Scene

On Sunday, November 24th, 2024, Columbia-Adair County Fire Department was dispatched at approximately 00:18 hours to 1776 Bull Run Road on a report of a structure fire that was fully engulfed and the 911 caller was unsure if anyone was at home. 

Upon arrival firefighters found a fully engulfed two story structure on fire with three vehicles in the driveway and one of the vehicles being on fire. Firefighters then conducted a defensive attack on the fire and kept the fire contained to the original structure.

Once the fire was cooled down and having communicated with family and neighbors in the area, it was determined that there were two people unaccounted for. Firefighters then completed extensive overhaul on the home and located two bodies within the home. 

While on scene there was one firefighter injured. The firefighter was transported by Adair County EMS to TJ Health Columbia for non life threatening injuries. The firefighter has since been released from the hospital. 

There were a total of 17 firefighters on scene for approximately 5 hours. The scene was turned over to The Adair County Coroner’s Office.
