KY 501 In Casey County To Be Temporarily Closed Beginning Monday, July 8th

SOMERSET, Ky. (July 3, 2024) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 8 offices advises motorists that KY 501 at KY 70 (mile point 11.18) in Casey County will be temporarily closed starting Monday, July 8, 2024.

The closure is necessary as crews begin construction to realign KY 501 at the intersection of KY 70 as part of an intersection improvement project.

During the closure motorists will detour using KY 70 and KY 1649. Motorists should be prepared for longer travel times with the detour. In addition, the speed limit will be reduced on KY 70 to 45 mph.

Work is expected to be completed Sept. 15. The starting date and duration of the closure may be adjusted for inclement weather or other unforeseeable delays.
