A State of Emergency has been declared for Adair County following a visit today (Friday, January 23, 2026) from Kentucky Emergency Management (KYEM) Area Manager Justin Graves to Judge Executive Larry Russell Bryant.
During the visit, Area Manager Graves met with Judge Executive Bryant, Dustin Posey, and Adair County Emergency Management Director Grant Loy to discuss preparedness efforts. Governor Andy Beshear has declared a statewide State of Emergency, and if needed, the National Guard is on standby to assist Adair County upon request.
To support residents during the cold weather, the Jim Blair Center, located at 901 Hudson Street, and the Adair County Annex basement will be open Saturday and Sunday as warming stations for any citizens in need.
