During a recent episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, host Drew Barrymore reflected on her experience working with the late Val Kilmer on the 1995 film Batman Forever. Barrymore, who portrayed Sugar—one of Two-Face’s assistants—praised Kilmer’s supportive nature on set. She described him as “so nurturing and kind and safe,” emphasizing the significance of feeling secure during that period of her life.
Barrymore’s comments came in the wake of Kilmer’s passing at age 65, prompting many in Hollywood to share their memories of the actor. She credited both Kilmer and director Joel Schumacher for involving her in the project, noting that their collaboration contributed to a positive and memorable filming experience.
Batman Forever marked Kilmer’s sole portrayal of the Caped Crusader, succeeding Michael Keaton and preceding George Clooney in the role. The film featured a star-studded cast, including Jim Carrey as the Riddler and Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face. Reflecting on her time on set, Barrymore expressed gratitude for Kilmer’s kindness, which left a lasting impression on her career.
