Traffic Stop in Adair County Leads to Meth Trafficking Arrest

On Thursday, April 30, 2026, a routine traffic stop conducted by Adair County Sheriff’s Deputies resulted in the arrest of a Burkesville man on multiple charges, including drug trafficking.

According to authorities, deputies initiated the stop after observing vehicle violations. During the encounter, Joseph Parham, 30, of Burkesville, was found to be in possession of approximately 61 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

As a result of the investigation, Parham was taken into custody and charged with several offenses. These include rear license plate not illuminated, inadequate silencer (muffler), no registration receipt, and failure to produce an insurance card. He also faces more serious charges, including trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree (over two grams of methamphetamine), resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, and operating a motor vehicle under the influence.

The arrest was carried out by Deputy Nick Barber, with assistance from Deputy Hunter Tweedy.
